Getting started and your first session
From your enquiry to your first consultation.
Getting started and your first session
Start by contacting us. We clarify what you are looking for and how to take the next step.
Your first consultation
The first consultation gives us time to understand your circumstances, how OCD affects everyday life and what you would like help with. Whether you are seeking treatment for yourself, parent guidance or support in your relationship with someone who has OCD, we start with the concerns you bring. Together, we explore the difficulties and patterns involved and begin to agree on what would be helpful to work on.
Feeling secure and preparing
It is common to feel nervous before the first consultation. You do not need to tell us everything at once or know exactly how to explain it. We help you make sense of what is happening and take the conversation at a pace you can manage.
If it helps you feel more at ease, a parent, partner, friend or another person can join the online consultation to support you. We agree this together in advance.

The first consultation sets the direction
We use the first consultation to agree on a direction for the work and discuss what would help you next. If we continue working together, we can adjust the focus, pace and format as we understand your circumstances and needs better.
